The roundtable discussion was hosted by U.S. Department of Labor Secretary Thomas E. Perez and focused, on lessons learned and best practices that included reviewing advertising and hiring practices to not discriminate against candidates solely based on unemployment status, as well as to cast a broad net to encourage qualified candidates to apply, and share successes with staffing firms and the larger business community.

Companies present at the roundtable made a commitment to hiring practices that remove barriers and prevent qualified long-term unemployed job seekers from applying or being considered for jobs.
