Optimax in the Community

Optimax took the initiative to enter numerous workplace competitions. The results, given below, were very rewarding.

Rochester’s Top Workplace

The Top Workplaces are determined solely on employee feedback. The employee survey was conducted by Workplace Dynamics, with more than 800 workplaces  invited to take part in the survey and 45 companies made the cut.

Local workers were asked about the typical rubrics used in assessing a company. Are people fairly paid? How good is the benefits package? How confident are you about your future with the company? But there were even more questions about the climate of working. Does management seem to care about worker concerns? Do senior managers know what’s really going on? How much frustration is there at work?

The right answers to those questions can make not only a place where employees are happier but also a more successful operation.

Top Small Company Workplaces Competition

IncAward

Inc. Magazine and Winning Workplaces put on a yearly competition to identify the best small and mid-sized companies to work for across the nation. Out of the nearly 500 companies that submitted applications in 2010, only 20 were announced as winners. Optimax is one of them.

This is what the judges said about the winning companies:

“Common characteristics of the winning companies include aligning the workforce with a clear vision, mission, and values; communicating with openness and trust; and investing in employees’ continuous learning and development. These practices were maintained or strengthened as a means to weather the recession. Further, many winners chose to share the pain rather than lay off colleagues.”
