Optimax's New Wesbite

After much planning and anticipation, Optimax is proud to announce that our NEW website has gone live! Months of writing, editing, and formatting the content have paid off with a new attention grabbing homepage complete with links to take you to the pages containing information that interests you most.

At a glance, this website offers information on Optimax’ capabilities, background, resources, and order placement. Key items, such as our Manufacturing Tolerance Chart, Inspection Data Options, Preferred Glass List, and Test Plate Library, have been upgraded and transferred over from the previous site. Specifications about aspheres, cylinders, prisms, and spheres have as well. Packaging options are made complete with updated photographs and an overview of our metrology equipment is provided.

Some new additions, solely for your pleasure, have been included as well. The interactive Optimax in Space page shows you where Optimax manufactured optics have been taken into space and provides links to direct you to more information regarding each NASA program. Short Optimax stories are given, as well as “Did You Knows”, which are neat Optimax related facts that prove to be interesting. Read these carefully because they’re always changing.

As Optimax continues to develop the features provided on our website, more information and more exciting items will be added. Monthly updates will ensure that all content is accurate and fresh. Check us out sometime at www.optimaxsi.com

2009: The Year of “Customer Satisfaction”

2008, the year of “Personal Accountability” came to a close with great success. The integrity of our workforce was challenged and improved in many ways. There was much individual and corporate improvement made as we all worked together to be held responsible at every level. Now, with the New Year well on its way, the Optimax team is going to take its reliability to a whole new level with an emphasis Customer Satisfaction.

The theme of “Customer Satisfaction” has been decided upon for the year of 2009. As the year unfolds, there is sure to be many implementations that will help us improve our service from the moment we receive a request for quote to the time we ship the parts out the door. To get us started, a Customer Satisfaction Letter is going to be sent to each customer at the close of every order. Attached to this letter is a survey that, when filled out and returned, will help to show us how to enhance our customer support and service.

Throughout the year, our sales teams will be making multiple customer visits, making the effort to spend time with our customers to build relationships and understand their needs. From the view of inside sales, we will be working hard to provide the better services and information that will enable our customers to be aware of what’s happening with their order from start to finish. Through dedication to status updates, quick responses, and open availability to our resources, our customers will be empowered to make informed decisions for their projects. Our procedures will be challenged to improve the manufacturing process so that our customers can be confident that the optics they receive will be of the highest quality, and that their orders will be delivered on time.

Optimax is challenging itself to move forward in 2009 with a higher performance rate than ever before. As our customers, colleagues, and friends, we encourage you to provide us with honest feedback that will enable us to be consistent in our improvements. We are anticipating another successful year of enabling our customers to create value within these tough economic markets.

Employee Profile: Mike Martucci

Martucci_Michael
Mike Martucci joined the Optimax team in 2004 as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. In this position, he was responsible for the design of manufacturing and metrology tooling and fixturing. Recently, Mike has switched to the roles of Sales Application Engineer and Assembly Department Manager, where he will work as a key player with both the sales and manufacturing teams.

As a youth, Mike apprenticed in machine tool trades and served for ten years as a model shop machinist for several major corporations. In 1988, he entered the optics industry, where he has grown in the field ever since. To begin his career, Mike served as a production manager for Zoomar Corporation, a subsidiary of Melles Griot, Zoomar was a manufacturer of boresight telescopes for military applications.

In the fall of 1990 Mike relocated to Rochester, NY to work at the Rochester division of Melles Griot.  Mike was employed in several roles during his 14 year tenure there. As assembly manager, he was responsible for both opto-mechanical and shutter assembly. He then took on the role of System Engineer – first with the machine vision group and later with its Nano-Positioning group. From this role, he transitioned into sales as a Regional Sales Manager and was responsible for the Silicon Valley territory. It is with this knowledge and experience that Mike joined the Optimax team.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys cooking and is an avid reader. During the warmer months, Mike enjoys a good round of golf although seldom shooting one. With the unpredictable New York weather, you may find him on the golf course rain or shine.

Mike is enthusiastic about his new role as Sales Application Engineer and looks forward to working closely with the rest of the sales team in 2009.
