Laboratory worked for years to
develop the National Ignition
Facility (NIF). This facility
houses the largest,
highest-energy laser in the
USA. 1000s of optics were used
in the fabrication of this
laser and Optimax manufactured
most of the small optics; less
than 10” diameter. Optimax
was invited to attend the
dedication of NIF, where a
once in a lifetime tour of the
facility was offered. Joe
Pinto, Sales Engineer, was
photographed in front of the
target chamber.
