OPTIMAXSBIRs

Optimax has received a number of SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research) grants over the years. These grants, administered by the US Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Technology, ensure that the nation's small businesses take part in creating and commercializing new innovations and technologies. There are three phases of SBIR funding: Phase I for feasibility studies, Phase II for research and development and Phase III for commercialization.

Our in-house scientists, engineers and research assistants work together with our production team to cultivate a culture of continuous technology advancement. Our research assistants are opticians who perform research experiments parallel to production in their lean cells. The technology that is developed during these SBIR projects allows Optimax to enhance our high precision optics that we offer to all of our customers.

Our research intiatives through SBIRs have included:

  • Aerodynamic Infrared Dome
  • Conformal Optics
  • Elimination of Mid-Spatial Errors with VIBE™ polishing
  • Optically Precise Conformal Sensor Window
