This spring, Optimax began a 50% facility expansion to our existing 40,000 square feet manufacturing facility in the Town of Ontario, in the great state of New York. Optimax is proud to be one of many growing optics firms in the Rochester area.
The 20,000 square feet addition is designated space for the lean manufacturing of high precision production optics. It will include 2000 square feet of space in the form of two environmentally controlled rooms specifically engineered to provide enhanced metrology capability.
With a 30% increase in business in 2010 and again in 2011, it has become necessary for Optimax to increase our capacity to continue to support our customer's projects with the on-time delivery of high quality optics. We are investing over $5,000,000 in capital equipment to double our capacity for the manufacturing and testing of optical components.
Occupancy in the new space is scheduled for the fall of 2011.
